Campania by night

Have you ever visited an archaeological park or museum in the evening? Have you ever admired temples, theatres and exhibitions after sunset? The experience is awaiting you in the next weeks, which will be rich in cultural events. We suggest you right that: a night tour among the main regional sites.
The opportunity is offered by “Campania by night”, the programme of evening openings of cultural sites promoted by Scabec. Until September 8th, guided tours dedicated to the topics of myths and constellations will be available, in addition to the observation of the starry sky to identify the mythological creatures of the 88 modern constellations. More emotions can be expected from the Fridays of Herculaneum – unitl September 21st – offering guided tours, light projections, and video mapping of the statues and frescoes that are currently kept at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. The tableaux vivants will represent scenes of daily life highlighting the blend of folks’ art and the heritage inspired by Greek culture characterizing figurative arts in ancient Rome.
On September 21st and 22nd, the European Heritage Days are taking place. There will be three golden threads this year: art, culture and entertainment. In particular, state-owned museums are going to be open for three extra hours on Saturday 21st, with a token entrance fee of one euro. It will be an opportunity to visit archaeological parks, ancient theatres, churches, castles, Charterhouses, noble residencies, royal palaces and other cultural sites, not only in the Sorrento Peninsula and in Naples, but also in tens of other cities in Campania. Visitors will immerse themselves in the history and culture of our region.
